I have been so keen to scrap all week but work has got in the way so

when I found time last night I did a blatant scrap lift from the

new Scrapbook Trends mag

I just got in stock

the cover of this page inspired me so much

using my FAVOURITE punch how could I not scrap lift it

My 1st attempt is"love" using the NEW MME Rosy SFS Designer Kit

I used black cardstock to highlight the photo more - however it doesn't show the punched area as well - so might have to give it another go tonight :)

I must admit I have been a little addicted to black card stock after finding Gerogia Keays' Blog

and using it in a few classes to help people enhance their photos.

I'm amazed that the first technique I was taught 10 yrs ago is back in fashion - matting :)

Here at SFS Headquarters I teach classes - generally 3 days and 3 nights a month

Here is an example of what we do

Classes are always at least 3 pages if not 4

and they cost $25

some classes include everything - others you need to bring alphas

Day classes include lunch, night ones include supper

I got this one page class from my Supplier

then I added another sheet of paper, a sheet of sticker borders and few cardstocks

and we got 3 more pages

using up every little piece of paper we had

Also I will be looking at selling some of my classes thru the shop

A Scrappy few weeks

I have been told I need to get some pages on here so here we go.

Last weekend I spent 4 days with 80+ extrememly talented and motivating

ladies at Camp Mojo.

It was so wonderful to meet the ladies whom inspire me in my scrapping....

too many to name [ as I would hate to leave someone out].

But I was very honoured to be able to scrap the whole weekend with Sar Ward, San Staples, Sharon Thompson, Kris Pace & Chrissy Collier, and at the other end of our long table was Del Sheehan, Lisa Warren, Susan Longman, Wendy Smith and my beautiful friend Marelle Jackman.

It was a shame the tables are so long as I didn't get a lot of talk time with these ladies

like I had hoped.

On the up side of not being a social butterfly I did get ALOT of pages done...

and WON the "Peta vs Sar scrap event" we had 70+ poeple watching us on FB

She played strong but decided to do a double page - WITH hand stitching - yes I know she's crazy!!!!

Here are just a few [as i have to save some for the Blind Scrapping over on the forum]

The NEW SFS Sub kit is just so nice - the colours are gorgoeus and suit so many

different photos - I had a lot of fun creating with this kit.

just a couple I did at home on the Wednesday Night with Sar, San & Crystal

and my gorgeous nephews :)

and of course I had to scrap this pic :)

it got lots of comments and encouraged a fun 'chat & drink' with Anne- Marie Cox

cause she is so darn nosey!!!!

I was so happy witht he colours, spray and photo placement - but it needed something

so lucky I have contacts in HIGH places

and my amazingly talented friend Wendy used her

and last but not least I took alot of 'left overs' from kits and it was

great to get some great pages out of these

to football so mum & I got out some bags of scraps and lots of embellishments

and scrapped - whilst the girls scrapped on a table too :)

Welcoming a NEW member to our flock.....

since January I have been looking for a NEW DT member to help get samples done for all the

GREAT new products out that just need to be part of the SFS Deisgner kits

It has been hard as most of the talented ladies I knowand love already have a fab DT spot.

I wanted to make sure the new DT member would be someone who would bring

a different style of samples - someone who is not affraid to look outside the box - someone

whos work was eye catching and would completement but also be a contrast of both Kate & my own work...

I have watched many peoples feelings get hurt thru DT comps and didnt want to run a comp where

I would have to say no to people - it isnt much fun - so I went ahead looking, blog hopping and searching....

It was a long time till I found a few whom I thought would be up for the task

but one really stood out....

and best of all I knew her

someone I had previously met a few times

someone who I had watched develope a style which she can finally call her's

someone who I know will rise to the challenge and bring

samples of the SFS Designer Kits to a new level.

I would like to introduce to you SFS NEW DT Member

Malinda Gardner

I’m mum to Isobel (4) and Beatrix (1) and one on the way - due July 2011

and wife to an amazing husband and father, Nathan.

I started scrapping about 3 months after Isobel was born, so 4 years ago. Mum told me to “get a hobby” and even though i thought it was the daggiest hobby, I asked a girlfriend to show me what she had done at a class at LSS.

I scrap most days, if I don’t I don’t feel right. It’s my ME time, my sanity, my creative outlet. I never knew I was creative until I started scrapping, and I only now believe that I am quite good at what I do, well actually not that I am good at what I do, but that I like what I do. I scrap for me and for my family. I do do a lot of challenges, in fact I would say 95% of my scrapping is for challenges, but that’s because I love the actual challenge of doing challenge IYKWIM.

I am lucky enough to have a study that has a scrap table and scrap box kind of thing that Nath made for me in it. So I can leave my mess out and don’t have to pack things up. I am a messy scrapper, on the page and on the desk! I hate to put stuff away!

Obviously my main scrapping subjects are my girls, but I love to scrap about other people as well, especially the relationships they have with each other. I love to journal, even though I hate my handwriting, I try to journal on most pages.

My greatest purchase in the latest 4 years would be my Canon 450D and taking the time to learn how to use it and now how to use PS to edit. It’s amazing how different my photos are and then my LOs.
I've been published in both SC and SM...and now I might try and get something published in one of the OS mags!

I'm currently on the CT at White with 1 and Beyond the Door and run/own Scrap the Girls from June and have been on the CT at STUCK! sketches and 123 Challenge.

My Dancing Princess.....

Meah had her Slow Tap performance this morning at her 3rd Eidteddfod

and she was AMAZING.....

yes of course I would say that i'm her mum - but the judge thought she was VERY good too and awarded her a Highly Commended for her performance

I am sooooo proud of her - she was so excited - she turned around whent he number was called and said

"8 'insert shocked look' - mum i'm number 8"

She is so innoncent - I just love that about her :)

This morning Zac also played footy - which i missed - but they were triumphant 38-10

I took a few pics of him before he left....

He's so big now!!!!

and talking about big - I cannot beleive this little girl is going to be 3 in 10 days!!!!

and Yes I know I am missing a child.... I will have to add some party pics of him when I pic him up

I will be concerntrating on SFS Designer Retreats starting in 2012

Yesterday's Class @ Embellee's

Yesterday I took a seat on the other side of the teaching table and learnt some fantastic techniques and ideas from some wonderful ladies.

Haylee & I went to Edgeworth for an allday class with
"embellees" - Lizzie & Lisa

and met a room full of talented and 'lovely' ladies.

We were taught 2 pages from Lisa

a Card from Cassie

and an amazing recycled album from Lizzie

I got the 1st page finished there

the 2nd page will be finished this afternoon

the album I got started there and finished the cover and some inside pages last night at home

here is the cover

I am going to make it an album about my Grandma who is 94 in a few weeks

and I can't wait to get mum to scan for me some old photos and letters etc

so I can document her life in this album

to me it looks perfect for a vintage type album

I will take some photos of the inside once I get some pics happening.

As for the card - well im not good with them - but I will get it happening and see how I go.

But the Tim Hotlz grunge tool made an appearance as did the inks - and I had

alot of fun blending and getting messy

I have forgotten how much you can do with them

Im feeling some messy classes coming our way here at SFS :)

I love using LOTS of photos to tell a story - and as you can see not all of them where printed

as small photos - alot are 6x4's cut down.

Multi's are fantastic for srcapping events such as bdays, xmas etc....

take the plugged and have a go... don't limit your creativeness to single photo pages :)

Well what a fantastic weekend we have just had....

Loads of scrapping [ i did 32]

yummy food

plenty of laughs

and just an all round awesome weekend with a bunch of great friends....

I love being able to spend the weekend with good friends and enjoy together our hobby...

thinking of them and the things they do

I wanted to get a pic with them both

so whilst I set the camera the fun begun

till the tree got on my head

and Nat decided to play with my a#$e

thanks again for some great laughs ladies...

But all jokes aside the BESTEST part of the weekend was the fact that I got to share it with my MUM!!!

althought she had to block her ears alot and ignore alot of the 'language'

she relaxed and had some laughs and jokes

[and wasnt always the butt of them lol]

but it really was nice to have some mum time without the kids - the family or

running around at my retreatorganising stuff....

Thought I had better share some christmas photos seeing I have been so slack...

I have just spent an hour loading photos off my camera - as my computer was full I had to move to hard drive and delete alot of albums....

so here is a glance of our 2010 Christmas

butter wouldnt melt in theirs mouths....
didnt get a chance to do xmas cards - but I got the photo perfect

got to have lunch with Nan - we suprized her, Zac, Meah & I met Dad and Nan
at Toronto Workers Club.

the kids gave her a nice tin of biscuits and some slices I baked

Xmas Eve Eve Eve drinks and secret santa with the gang

We called into Nana Taylors on our way to the Moutains
she looked great - and Jason did a few jobs for her - she was very happy

and Aunty Rel arrived just before we left

Christmas @ home.... the Blue Mountains...
We arrive on the Thursday - it was hot as we set up the camper in the driveway...
But Friday we woke to a typical mountain day of cold mist and rain!!!!!

Dad's xmas job - everyday!!!!

all the kids xmas eve in their hand made stockings

It is a tradition with us to have a present of new PJs xmas eve and then have a photo in the stocking
well Miss Sienna would not sit near anyone

even with a bribe of a treat

but chocolate FINALLY worked!!!!

story time with Grammie is always a must

but even more special when its with Great Grandma
[they have a special bond - born on the same day 91 yrs apart]

all the family together is always a special moment....

now because we went camping straight from Poppy's world we emailed Santa to leave any 'school stuff' at home..... so it was christmas all over again on Sunday 2.1.11....

so thats our xmas in a nut shell... just a few out of the 230 pics taken...

Hope you have all had a great Christmas and that your new year celebrations went well and you don't have too bad a hangover.
We spent Christmas at my family home in Wentworth Falls it was great to spent time with everyone especially my 94 year old Grandma.
We are now camping at Mudgee - it's our last full day today - heading home tomorrow.
We have had a great time visiting wineries, walking around the shops, bike riding and going to the pool.
I have scrapped 6 singles and a double page.
I havent worked out how to load photos from my phone yet so I will do a photo load when we are home.
